About DigiClass Ltd
DigiClass Ltd was established in 2022 to provide support to independent and charitable organisations who were unable to access NHS Commissioning Support Unit support.
That support is now available to all health and care organisations
Collaboration
DigiClass Ltd works in collaboration with Clinical Assurance Solutions Ltd
This partnership is built on many years of shared experience in digital clinical safety and assurance, including the co-development of system-level and programme-level approaches to clinical risk management, and the award-winning System-Level Approach to Clinical Risk Management©.
Together, this work has focused on reducing duplication, improving consistency, and enabling pragmatic, scalable assurance across organisations and programmes.
This collaborative approach continues to support delivery across a wide range of healthcare settings.
Maggie Lay, RN, MSc, CSO
Founder of DigiClass Ltd
I am a Registered Nurse and an accredited Clinical Safety Officer.
I have worked as Clinical Transformation Lead or Clinical Safety Officer at the NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit since 2012, supporting NHS organisations.
Experience and credentials
Practitioner level in Prince 2 project management and Managing Successful Programmes.
MSc in Management in Healthcare.
Considerable experience of Information Governance and will always try to work in partnership with IG workstreams.
Fellow of the BCS and vice-chair of the BCS digital Clinical Risk Management Group.
My passion is clinical transformation to improve patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
I have over forty years experience in the NHS. I worked as a registered nurse for over 25 years, in a variety of care settings, before moving into clinical informatics.
The shift was driven by a simple conviction: improving the flow of information around individual patients is the only way to improve outcomes across the whole system.
That dual grounding, in direct patient care and in how health data is created, shared and interpreted, shapes everything I do.
I understand the complexity of governance and the challenge of applying the DCB clinical risk management standards within such cross-organisational programmes.
I also believe that digital Clinical Risk Management is not a standalone task; it is an intrinsic part of Clinical Assurance for all transformation programmes, alongside Information Governance, Equality Delivery and Patient Safety.
